Copies of a book titled ‘Retirement Musings’, authored by Brig Gen Daniel Frimpong (Rtd), have been donated to the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) on Friday 13 December 2019 to aid research in the college.
The book which was launched on 21 November 2019 at the Burma Hall depicts a theme on retirement with emphasis on the need to make plans towards it because it was inevitable.
The Commandant GAFCSC, Rear Admiral Moses Beick-Baffour who received the books on behalf of the college, described the author, Brig Gen Daniel Frimpong (Rtd) as the foremost prolific writer of the Ghana Armed Forces with decades of writing experience under his belt.
He indicated that GAFCSC was a college of excellence, with a well stock library for research, therefore, the book ‘Retired Musings’ would have a special place in the colleges library to serve academia.
Brig Gen Frimpong (Rtd) in a remark indicated, retirement was a topic nobody wanted to talk about, but was inevitable, therefore it was incumbent on everybody to plan and prepare adequately for retirement.
He added that his book ‘Retirement Musings’ should provide certain basic principles to the reader, to help them prepare for it.
Brig Gen Daniel Frimpong (Rtd) was an astute military officer and accomplished writer who was a columnist in the AFNEWS (a quarterly newspaper for the Ghana armed forces) consistently from 1985 till 2015. He also has few books published in his name; and now teaches at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), University of Ghana and Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Center (KAIPTC).
