Garrison Education Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces has organised its annual get-together and awards programme on Thursday 5 December 2019 at the Arakan Mess, Burma Camp.
The celebration was to take stock of the year’s work and to award deserving teachers for their hard work in the 2018/2019 Academic year.
The Chief Garrison Education Officer, Lt Col MY Borbi said the annual get-together was an opportunity to reflect on the year and plan the way forward for the coming year. He commended all staff for working hard to shape the pupils in the various schools to achieve the right prospect they ought to attain.
He expressed his excitement for the drive, passion and determination of teachers underpinned with skill and knowledge which had raised the teaching and learning to a new level in the Unit. Citing the challenges the schools faced, he mentioned ICT and sanitation which he requested stakeholders to support them solve it.
Lt Col Borbi congratulated all who received awards and encouraged those who did not to work hard for their turn next year. He bid the retirees and all past colleagues farewell and asks that God bless their efforts in every endeavour.
He commended the teaching and non-teaching staff for their contribution in making the year a success and commended stakeholders for their immense support.
Awards were presented to deserving teachers and other staff in these categories; Most outstanding teachers in all the 5 Clusters of the Unit in the Kindergarten category, Primary category, Junior High School category, Most improved school and Retirees category and the Overall Best Teachers for Kindergarten, Primary and the Junior High School.
