The Men’s Fellowship of the Garrisons Methodist Presbyterian Church (GMPC) Burma Camp, has donated food and drink items worth Ten Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH10.000) to the Male and Female Special Block of the Nsawam Prisons.
The donation which was done on Wednesday 4, December 2019, formed part of the Church’s corporate social responsibility of visiting the Male and Females Special Block to support and socialize with the inmates.
The Chairman of the Men’s Fellowship of GMPC, Mr Kit Caesar, said the aim of visiting the Nsawam Prisons was periodical to make sure the inmates were comfortable during the yuletide.
Receiving the items, the Deputy Superintendent of Prisons DSP, Mrs Stella Katso who doubles as the Second in Command (2IC) of the Nsawam Prisons, expressed gratitude to the Chairman and the entire Members of the GMPC for their continuous support towards the Special Block.
The Director for Religious Affairs (DRA), Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Rev-Capt (GN) Adjei Djan who handed over the items on behalf of GMPC, urged the inmates to read their Bibles and be prayerful at all times. He advised them to be hopeful and trust God that one day their prayers would be answered.
The Men’s Fellowship used the opportunity to cut a tape for the opening of the ablution units for the male and female special blocks they renovated.
Present were; the Vice Chairman for the Men’s Fellowship of GMPC, Mr Ranford Oboh, past Chairman of GMPC Men’s Fellowship, Lt Col Obobi; the past National President for the Men’s Fellowship Mr JY Asamoah, Secretory for the Men’s Fellowship, Lt Col Mensah Gorman, Col Joe Manu and some Church Members.
