The outgoing United Kingdom (UK) Defence Adviser (DA) to Ghana, Lt Col Simon Westlake, together with his successor Lt Col Alistair McKechnie have paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson on Wednesday 15 May 2019 in his office at the Air Force Headquarters, Burma Camp.
During their interaction, Lt Col Simon Westlake stated that, the purpose of the visit was to formally bid farewell to the Air Force and the Ghana Armed Forces as a whole after successfully completing his mission and also introduce his successor.
Lt Col Westlake expressed his profound gratitude for the immense support and cooperation shown him during his tenure which provided an enabling environment to improve upon the long standing relationship that has existed between both countries over the years.
In his remarks, Lt Col Alistair McKechnie stated that, he looks forward to a congenial working and strengthened bilateral relationship that exists between both countries.
On his part, AVM Frank Hanson commended the outgoing DA for his outstanding service and wished him well in his future endeavours. AVM Hanson presented a plaque to the DA as a show of goodwill and promised to render the necessary support to his successor.
