F/Sgt Anthony Yaw Bress goes home

The burial service of the late F/Sgt Anthony Yaw Bress has been held at the Church of Pentecost, Burma Worship Centre in Accra on Friday 17 May 2019.

The Ghana Air Force described the late F/Sgt Bress as a resourceful and goal-oriented soldier who served the Ghana Air Force for 15 years. He distinguished himself through hard work and determination that enabled him rise through the ranks from Aircraftman to Flight Sergeant. He was recruited into the Engineering Branch of the Ghana Air Force as a driver on 9 January 2003 after his Basic Military Training at the Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) in Takoradi.

The late F/Sgt Bress served in various UN Peacekeeping Operations including, United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) GHANBATT 65, United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) GHANBATT 9 and United Nations Mission in Cote d’Ivoire (UNOCI) GHAN 16.

The late F/Sgt took some courses whilst in the service; Driver B111 from 29 January to 9 April 2010, Driver B11 from 17 September to 26 November 2010 and Driver B1 from 8 January to 22 March 2013. He also attended and successfully completed the MT Accounting and MT SNCOs/WOs Course at AFMTS/ASTS from 23 January to 27 February 2015 and 4 March to May 2016 respectively at the Armed Forces Mechanical Transport School, Burma Camp.

The late F/Sgt Bress passed away on 10 March 2019 at the 37 Military Hospital. He left behind his wife and five children.
