3 May 2019.    The Physical Training School has held a closing ceremony for the Advance Physical Training Instructors Course 43 on Friday 3 May 2019 at the Addico Square, MATS in Teshie.

A total of 40 students graduated from the 15 weeks vigorous and demanding course with an impressive gymnastic display. These gymnastics display included head spring, split and roll, horse displays, individual performances and tricks among others. The Guest of Honour, Commandant, Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS), Major Gen William Omane Agyekum stated that the Military High Command had taken notice of the declining nature of physical fitness among personnel within the GAF.

He said the agility and dexterity of gymnastics exhibited by the graduands was a testimony of what they had acquired during their training.

He reminded them that the course had placed them a step ahead of a normal or ordinary soldier in fitness. He, however, encouraged them to sustain their level of fitness by exercising regularly to maintain all the physical fitness components namely, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, composition among others.
