The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has organised a graduation religious service for students of Senior Division Course 40 (SDC) and Masters in Defense and International Politics (MDIP) batch 4 on Sunday 11 August 2019 at the Otu barracks in Teshie.
The students were from 14 different countries including Botswana, Burkina Faso, and Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Zambia.
Addressing the students, the Guest of Honour, Brig Gen K Oppong Kyekyeku (Rtd), congratulated them and said the course was very important in their career and hope the 11 months of studies had equipped them for the task ahead. He added that even though the course was very tough and demanding, he was convinced the privilege given them had given them the opportunity to learn new skills and also be able to function in higher appointments.
Brig Gen K Oppong Kyekyeku (Rtd) further stated that, as graduands, they owned it a duty of safeguarding their output gained from their studies and to utilize them in their future deployment which would reflect the highest standard of the college.
He urged them to exhibit mature leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, act perfectly and form a good working relation among themselves and beyond the sub region.
Brig Gen Kyekyeku also indicated that, the course had given the students the opportunity to improve on their career and entreated them to always devote time with God. He advised them to learn from the experience of their predecessors so that they could grow on their capacities.
Speaking at the service on the theme “knowledge for humble service”, Rev Lt Col Dr Kofi Bliss Agbeko (Rtd), advised the students to put their faith in God and exhibit righteousness, truthfulness and patience and implored them to be game changers in their line of duties after the course.
