The Chief of Staff (COS) at the General Headquarters, Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh has commissioned an ultra-modern office block at the department of the General Headquarters Plans Research and Development (GHQ PR&D) in Burma Camp on Thursday, 28 July 2022.

In a welcome address, the Director General (DG) PR&D, Brigadier General Richard Gyane said the building would provide a work space for administrative and managerial staff. He disclosed that few years ago, the Department was performing its duties in 2 prefabricated  containers which were used as makeshift offices due to the deficiency in office accommodation, hence the self-help project with assistance from some sponsors to replace the prefab containers with a permanent office complex.

Major General Nicholas Peter Andoh in his remarks as the Guest of Honour for the ceremony expressed his appreciation to the sponsors for supporting the infrastructural development of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He added that, GAF is still undertaking massive infrastructural developments amidst the constraints across all Garrisons through the benevolence and support of partners and well-wishers.

He took the opportunity to urge the private sector and other benefactors to continue to partner GAF in its infrastructural development especially in this era where the Sub-region is prone to insecurity so that GAF can be better positioned to respond effectively to any potential threats. He added that Ghana plays a pivotal role in the sub-regional security issues and is also ranked as one of the highest troop contributors globally in International Peace Support operations.

The COS further commended the DG for his initiative and encouraged all DGs and people in leadership positions to emulate same. Maj Gen Andoh presented plaques and citations to the sponsors for their selfless contributions toward the completion of the project.
