Professor William Ofori Ntim, a Philanthropist and Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine with the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Novant Health Campus donated medical items to the 37 Military Hospital on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
The items presented included Toilet rolls, Boxes of A4 sheets, Exercise Books, Kalypo Fruit juice, Biscuits, Tissues, paper bags, Pulse Oximeter, Electronic Sphygmomanometer, Infrared Thermometer, Otoscope, Industrial Paper Towels and Hand Towels.
Professor William Ntim said he had special reasons for donating to the hospital. The first being that, he served as a National Service Personnel with the facility in 1986, where he learned so much and secondly he felt it would be right to appreciate the excellent treatment and service rendered to his brother when he had a neurological problem and was admitted at the hospital.
He further stated that he was encouraged by his friend, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Major General Thomas Oppong-Peprah to give back to the facility in the spirit of the goodwill both he and his brother have benefited from the hospital over the years.
He added that the donation was made possible with the help of his wife Mrs Sally Ntim, Mr Samuel Osei Ntim and his elder brother Mr Frederick Osafo Ntim who is also the Chief Executive Officer of FON Group of Companies and his wife Agnes Ntim.
He stressed that the items would go a long way to support the Pediatric Department of the hospital. The Commanding Officer (CO) of the 37 Military Hospital, Col Seth Attoh received the items on behalf of the hospital and thanked him for his benevolence. He stated that the kind gesture will go a long way towards resolving some of the issues of the hospital.
