As part of government’s Barracks Regeneration Project to alleviate infrastructural challenges facing the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), the Minister for Defence, Hon Dominic Nitiwul inspected selected project sites on Wednesday 20 July 2022 at Burma Camp and Teshie.

The Minister inspected multiple ongoing projects including the General Headquarters Office Complex, Army Headquarters Complex, Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) accommodation (for instructors and cadets) and a warehouse for Base Ordinance Depot.

Addressing the Press, Hon Nitiwul revealed that similar projects were underway at the various Garrisons.

He empasised that the military was the last resort in terms of security for the country hence the need to retool GAF to be up to the task. He hinted that government was acquiring some additional armoured vehicles, fighter jets and offshore patrol vessels to make sure the country’s land, air and sea borders are safe and secured.
