Muslims of Al-Aziz Central Mosque held Eid-Ul-Adha prayers on Saturday, 9 July 2022 at Burma Camp, Accra. The festivities were under the theme “Brotherhood of Muslims”.
The Deputy Director Naval Training, Commander Abu Zakariah on behalf of the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama congratulated all Muslim Officers, Men, Women and Defence Civilian Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) for their outstanding devotion, submission, obedience and loyalty to Allah. He entreated all Muslims and Servicemen to let the lessons of the feast imbue in them a greater sense of sacrifice and devotion. Cdr Zakaria further encouraged them to continue preserving the territorial integrity of the country with a supreme sense of duty and responsibility that hinges on tenacity, resilience and sacrifice as the threat of global terrorism was on the increase.
The Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Major General Thomas Oppong-Preprah in his message encouraged all to intensify their efforts in discharging their duties to curb the activities of extremists and armed groups.
The Acting Chief Imam of GAF, Major Najmudeen Mohammed during the sermon entreated all to give reverence to Allah and that Muslims are one family irrespective of their tribe, culture or region. He urged all to adhere to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammed.
