The Political Head of Mission, the Special Representative of The President of The ECOWAS Commission (SRPC), Prof Hamidou Boly visited GHANCOY 1 camp at the Presidential Palace in Bissau on 6 July 2022. The purpose of his visit was to welcome the Ghanaian troops to Guinea-Bissau on behalf of the ECOWAS Commission and also acquaint himself with affairs of the company since deploying to Guinea-Bissau.

On arrival, The Combat Team Commander, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) David Korsah briefed the delegation on operations, administrative and logistics matters of the Company since its deployment into the mission area. He also highlighted various projects being undertaken by the Presidency of Guinea-Bissau for the Company to make troops comfortable. Additionally, the Commander enumerated some challenges confronting the Unit.

The SRPC expressed concern on the challenges faced by the company, revealing that his outfit would channel them to the appropriate office to be addressed. He also stated that he was happy with the level of professionalism exhibited by the troops over the past few weeks and urged them to keep it up.

Lt Col David Korsah indicated that the support and endorsement from the mission headquarters has been instrumental for the company and the efforts of the SRPC are well appreciated.
