NORTH DAKOTA NATIONAL GUARD JOINS GAF IN MULTI HAZARD SIMULATION EXERCISE

The North Dakota National Guard in collaboration with the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and other Security Services, have conducted a Multi Hazard Simulation Exercise on Thursday, 23 June 2022 at Accra International Trade Fair Centre at, Accra.

This exercise is aimed at reviewing and assessing planning assumptions, procedures, operational plans and guidelines as well as standard operating procedures. It is also to assess and test interoperability between plans procedures and capabilities.

The Officer Commanding (OC), 48 Engineer Regiment, Major Robert Tetteh Odjidja disclosed that the three-day exercise which started on Tuesday 21 June 2022 at the Tema Fishing Harbour through the Tema Motorway has ended at the Accra International Trade Fair Centre. He assured the general public of GAF’s preparedness to make sure Ghanaians remain safe and secure.

Major Odjidja said the simulation exercise (SimEx) was conducted to validate and enhance troops preparedness, response plan procedures and systems for hazards.

In attendance were the Director General for National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Honourable Agyemang Prempeh, North Dakota National Guard Commander, Major General Alan Dohrmann, Director General, Joint Operations and Planning (JOPS), Brigadier General Abdulai Mahama, Director Emergency Commander, DSP/ Mr Francis Oppong Agyare and Head of Special Operations for National Ambulance Service, Alhassan Mohammed Mashud and soldiers drawn from the 48 Engineer Regiment.
