The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Vice Admiral Seth Amoama has paid an emergency visit to some soldiers who were involved in an accident at Anum- Apapam in the Eastern Region who were brought to the Trauma Surgical and Emergency Unit (TSEU) and the Ex-Ray department of the 37 Military Hospital on Thursday 9 June 2022.

The visit was purposely to show his concern and support to the troops who were on their way to conduct Op Halt II duties at Anum- Apapam.

In an interview with the acting Nursing Officer in Charge (NOIC) of the TSEU of the hospital, Maj Fred Agyemang, he stated that, a total number of 20 male soldiers were rushed in to be taken care of and as at the time of the interview, the troops were still being attended to.

He added that the victims were from different Units of the Ghana Armed Forces specifically, Signal Regiment, 153 Armored Regiment, Southern Command, 1 Infantry Battalion, Forces Pay Regiment, 48 Engineering Regiment, Air force Base Accra and 5 Infantry Battalion.

The CDS was accompanied by the Commanding Officer of the 37 Military Hospital Brig Gen Azumah Bugri, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of the facility Col Francisca Aba Amakyi, CNO Clinical Col Patience Owusu Aidoo and other senior officers of the facility.
