A mission accomplishment parade has been held for Ghana Company 5 (GHANCOY 5) after a successful one year tour of duty with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Mission in Gambia (ECOMIG) on Monday 9 May, 2022 at the Air Force Base, Accra.

Addressing the parade, the Director General (DG) Defence Communication and Information Systems, Brig Gen Anthony Ntem who was the Reviewing Officer commended the troops for the professionalism they displayed during their tour in the Gambia.

He stated that the Military High Command had monitored their operational activities keenly since their departure and was aware of the challenges and constraints under which they operated in the Mission Area. He however assured personnel that critical measures were being put in place to ease the constraint under which troops operate in the Mission Areas.

Brig Gen Ntem mentioned that as part of the expansion and restructuring of Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Formations, new Units had been established to help in safeguarding the territorial boundaries of Ghana. He urged all who would find themselves posted to these new establishments to demonstrate a high sense of professionalism, loyalty and discipline at all times. “Whatever positive operational lessons you have learnt should be applied to the benefit of GAF.” he said.
