AFRTS HOLDS LIBERAL EDUCATION FOR BITC 2-21

The Air Force Recruit Training School (AFRTS) is holding a week-long Liberal Education for the Basic Infantry Training Course (BITC) 2- 21 in Takoradi.

The topics to be treated include Media Relations, Rules of Engagement, The soldier and the Constitution, Barracks security, Service offences. Others are;  planning for retirement, peacekeeping operations, Emerging security threats and Pay and Allowances. The seminar will have resource persons from GHQ(PR), Ghana Military Police(GMP), Army HQ (DALA, DAPKOP and DAIP), Forces Pay Regiment(FPR) and GHQ(REC).

The aim is for the Recruits to be abreast of how to face and deal with reality in the topical areas when they officially become professional soldiers.

The 2 Garrison Detachment of the Directorate of Public Relations (DPR) held a lecture on Media Relations for the Recruits on Monday 17 January, 2022.

The Acting Garrison Public Relations Officer (PRO), Mr Enoch Tetteh Opata and his team educated the recruits on how as in-coming Service personnel, they should relate to the media. He advised them to be guided by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) policy on communication and the use of social media.  He also entreated them to be cautious of sharing sensitive information about the military.
