The second edition of the Non-Commissioned Officers’ Manoeuvre leadership course has ended after a short closing ceremony at the Justice Opoku Hall in Kamina Barracks.
The 8 weeks course ended on Friday 17 December, 2021. Instructors from the 2nd Security Forces Assistance Brigade (2SFAB) of the US Army covered topics such as patrolling and battle drills, urban operations/counter insurgency, navigation, convoy operations, medical and small arms marksmanship.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Command Operations Officer, Colonel Michael Opoku representing the General Officer Commanding Northern Command, Brigadier General MM Aryee said discussions were underway to include the course into the training package of the Ghana Army to enable all soldiers partake in the course after passing out from their basic training. He further commended the participants for their conduct throughout the duration of the course.
The Defense Advisor at the US embassy, Lieutenant Colonel Viktor Maduka who represented the US ambassador reaffirmed that the United States would continue to lend support to the Ghana Armed Forces in areas such as training and logistics.
Awards were given to deserving participants. Private Agyapong Samuel won best in physical training and Corporal Asare Hinkley received the Iron Mike Award and Expert Marksman Award respectively. The Distinguished Honour Graduate went to Lance Corporal Abdul Karim Fuseini of the 69 Airborne Force.
