A total of 79 Officer Cadets of the Short Service Commission and Special Duties Course 59 have received the Presidential Commission to become fully fledge Military Officers at a colourful graduation parade ceremony at the Ghana Military Academy Parade Square at Teshie.

The graduating officer cadets consist of 34 Army, 19 Navy, 24 Airforce and 2 allied officer cadets from the Republic of Liberia Armed Forces commissioned on Friday December 17 2021. 

The intake is made up of professionals consisting of Medical Doctors Pharmacists, Physician Assistants, Midwives, Specialized Nurses, Occupational Therapists, a Public Health Assistant, Radiographers, Respiratory Therapists , Sonographers , a Health Service Administrator , Clinical Psychologists, Medical Laboratory Scientists , Clergy, a Lawyer, Logistics and Procurement Specialists,  Accountants and Special Duties personnel.

The Reviewing Officer, His Excellency the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia said the well-coordinated drill formations as well as the responsiveness of the contingents to the parade commanders’ orders depicts the high standard of discipline imbued by the graduating officer cadets.

He noted that the splendid parade exhibited by the cadets vividly demonstrate the tenacity and commitment that went into producing these well-rounded professional military officers who will defend the territorial boundaries of the country.

His Excellency the Vice President said government has commenced the strategic expansion and modernization of GAF in line with the threat analyzes and marching these with the acquisition of the requisite equipment, logistics infrastructure development and increasing man power.
