Three-member Delegation from Congo call on CDS

A three-member delegation from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) have paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen OB Akwa on Tuesday 23 July 2019 in Burma Camp, Accra.

The visit was a follow-up on discussions held by the Minister for Defence, Hon Dominic Nitiwul and the President of DR Congo, HE Felix Tshisekedi a few months ago.

The team, led by Col Ikikila Mpoku Raymond introduced themselves to the CDS. They expressed to the CDS for his warm reception adding that, he would relay the discussions to the President for further collaboration.

As part of their itinerary the team would a visit the Jungle Warfare School (JWS) at Achiase to witness Ex-Tigers Path which would end on Friday 26 July 2019 and other military installations in the country.

The CDS assured them of his support throughout their stay in Ghana.  Mentioning that it would be his joy for both parties to share ideas on various military subjects.  The CDS also shared with them the experience he had in DR Congo while he was on official duty some years ago.
