The Ghana Armed Forces Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) has on Wednesday 6 December, 2023, organised end of year recreational activities for personnel of the formation.

The events commenced with a 5km health walk followed by aerobics session at the Addico Square of the formation. There was football and volleyball competitions among the various training schools of the formation as well as indoor games such as table tennis, snooker, ludu and oware among others.

The Deputy Commandant TRADOC, Brig Gen Lawrence Gbetanu said the session aims at promoting esprit de corps among personnel, was also an opportunity to socialize, take stock of past events, and thank God for his blessings.

Reflecting on the year under review, he said the appointment of the first substantive Commandant, in the person of Major General Bismarck Onwona and two other Generals as Assistant Commandants Research and Doctrine (ASCOM R&D) and Tri-Service Schools (ASCOM TSS) was timely for the operationalization process of the Command.

He added that, inspite of challenges such as lack funding, inadequate infrastructure and staffing, the command has made significant stride by coming out with a guideline to serve as manual for doctrine development process, standardization of operational terms and military symbols, as well as initiation process for the development of the Ghana Armed Forces Joint Doctrine for operations.

He reiterated that the year under review saw various infrastructure projects at the TRADOC Headquarters to improve working conditions and a 4-room Day Care Centre.

Brig Gen Gbetanu urged personnel to remain disciplined and professional in the discharge of the duties and also admonish them against dubious activities such as unauthorized operations, robbery, recruitment fraud and social media infractions.

He commended all the training schools under TRADOC for successfully accomplishing their task of organizing courses and other duties.

Deputy Commandant also expressed his appreciation to the Member of Parliament for Ledzokuku Hon Benjamin Ayiku Nartey, the Chief Executive Officers for the National Health Insurance Scheme Dr Bernard Okoe Boye and the Church of Pentecost for their sponsorship.
