South Africa Joint Defence Committee Congratulates CDS for his new appointment

A 5-member delegation from the South Africa Joint Defence Committee, led by the Acting Secretary for Defence Dr Thobekile Gamede, have paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah at the General Headquarters on Monday 29 July, 2024.

Dr Gamede mentioned that the purpose of the visit was to congratulate the CDS on his elevation to the highest rank and appointment in the Ghana Armed Forces, discuss issues of mutual benefit and deepen the relations between the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and the South African Defence Force (SADF).

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah in his remarks was grateful for the visit and highlighted that GAF and SADF have collaborated in areas such as training, defence industries and security operations which had strengthened the bilateral relations between both institutions. He called for a more collaborative effort to exchange experiences in peace and security.
