In commemoration of their 25th Anniversary, the Ghana Military Academy (GMA) Regular Career Course (RCC) 38 and Short Service Commission (SSC) 37 have constructed and handed over Pergola to the 37 Military Hospitalon Thursday July 4, 2024.

The Pergola, built adjacent the Trauma and Surgical Emergency Unit (TSEU) to serve as family waiting area, the commissioning and handing over ceremony was in line with series of activities the intake rolled out in 2023 when it observed 25 years of dedicated service to the Ghana Armed Forces.

The group also donated assorted medical items including pulse oximeter, sphygmomanometer LCD, stethoscope, suction machine, weighing scales, baby bath tub, laboratory coat, medical crocs and bed sheet roll to complement the handing over ceremony.

Leader of the intake Director-General Legal Service, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Charles Gbekle in his address thanked the Command and hospital staff who contributed to the successful completion of the edifice though it took a long time to complete, he expressed the satisfaction for achieved the set goal. He added that the Sixty-Eight capacity waiting area has electrical sockets for charging phones and dustbins to keep the place clean.

Commander of the 37 Military Hospital, Brig Gen Prosper Ayibor said the Pergola would be of great benefit to the hospital. He expressed admiration to RCC 38 and SSC 37 for supporting the hospital with the magnificent edifice.

Brig Gen Ayibor indicated that since effective and efficient healthcare delivery has been expanded to embrace all stakeholders it was necessary to have waiting area for families as their presence would be required one way or the other. He noted that such situations make the project handy since it would create comfort for relatives of patients who have to wait for their loved ones admitted to the wards.
