The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, has been specially honoured during the 75th-anniversary celebration of Prempeh College on Saturday 2 November 2024.

The event attracted several distinguished guests, including the President of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo; Mamponghene Nana Osei Bonsu II; various Ministers of State; members of the Old Boys Association; and many esteemed guests.

As the Special Guest, Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah inspected a parade led by the College Cadet Prefect and shared reflections on his time at Prempeh College.

He recounted a pivotal moment when the Cadet Regimental Sergeant Major, affectionately called “Busanga,” expressed the hope that one of the cadets would one day become the nation’s highest-ranking military officer. He noted the initial disbelief this sparked among his peers, which has since turned into reality with his appointment as the Chief of the Defence Staff. Lieutenant General Oppong-Peprah emphasised the importance of pursuing aspirations and encouraged the young “Amanfoɔ” to stay committed to their goals.
