The First Infantry Battalion (1BN) and the Ghana Police Service have commenced a two-week pre-deployment joint training for Operation Calm Life and Peace Trail on Monday 9 September 2024 at Michel Camp, Tema.

The exercise is part of a long-standing nationwide Police-Military operation aimed at fostering good relations with citizens and combating crime in various regions.

During the opening ceremony to launch the Tema-Ashiaman Regional Operations, the Commander Rear 1BN, Lieutenant Colonel Frank Adams, emphasised that the training aims to enhance interoperability between the military and police, refresh personnel on standard operating procedures and rules of engagement, and build trust between the two forces.

He urged the troops to remain professional and disciplined in all their endeavours, stay vigilant, and be security-conscious at all times.

The training will cover various topics, including voice procedures, weapon training, tactics, first aid, physical training, and Military Police Joint Operations.
