The National Centre for Coordination of Early Warning and Response Mechanism (NCCRM) has held a workshop on Country Resilience and Human Security Assessment at the African Regent Hotel, Accra on Monday, 10 June 2024.

It was held in partnership with the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to research into Human Security Resilience of Countries in West Africa.

The Director NCCRM, Colonel (Col) William Ohemeng in an interaction with the media stated the research focuses on Security and Tourism, Maritime, Health and Pandemic, Governance and Human Rights, Crime and Environmental threats, Economic and Gender issues.

He further mentioned that the research has already rolled out in Nigeria and Ivory Coast and was optimistic the results acquired at the end of the research would help Ghana to be resilient to the Human Security threats.

NCCRM pen-source data gathering and transparent methods of sharing information, work with civil society organisations and other partners to establish a functional early warning and response system for conflict in the country and West African Subregion in order to improve policy and facilitate rapid and appropriate response to emerging crisis.

Other areas of interest of the research were crime, governance, environment, economy, health and security and co-founded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development.

 is to furnish security services and other stakeholders in the country to consolidate the findings and develop strategies in order to maintain peace especially in the upcoming general elections.
