The Leadership Training School (LTS) held a graduation parade for the Musician Grade 3 Course 1/24 at the Dei-Arms Square, Naval Base Tema, on Wednesday, 4 September 2024. The comprehensive six-month course significantly enhanced the musical knowledge and instrumental proficiency of the bandsmen. During the parade, the audience was treated to an impressive display of musical talent, showcasing the dedication and hard work of the course participants. The Guest of Honour, Director Band General Headquarters, Colonel Matthew Kwasi Asuka, commended the Commanding Officer and instructors for their exceptional work. He highlighted the ceremony’s importance in demonstrating the Ghana Navy Musical Band’s commitment to musical excellence and professionalism, marking a significant milestone for the Armed Forces. The course aims to produce skilled and confident bandsmen, thereby enhancing the Ghana Navy’s professionalism and musicianship. Colonel Asuka congratulated the award winners in recognition of their outstanding professionalism, dedication, and accomplishments, urging them to uphold the values instilled during their training and to strive for excellence throughout their careers. He advised the graduands to embody discipline, teamwork, and integrity within their respective units, using their talents to inspire and represent the Armed Forces. The Acting Commanding Officer of LTS, Lieutenant Commander Yaw Owusu Danso, in his address, expressed appreciation for the graduands’ dedication, commitment, and perseverance throughout the course. He also acknowledged the support of their families. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to outstanding graduands. Able Seaman Class II (ABII) Kovey Liklim Ethel was honoured with the Outstanding Student Award, while ABII Ahialengor Divine and ABII Siaw Asare Junior were recognised as the best in the Regimental Band and Dance Band, respectively. ABII Attafuah Emmanuella Mensimah, ABII Awallah Godwin, and ABII Ayer Williet Kwaku were acknowledged for their exceptional performance, placing first, second, and third, respectively, in the Overall Order of Merit.
