The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Southern Command, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Samuel Yeboah Asare has been inducted into office on Sunday, 05 November 2023 at the St Georges Garrison Anglican Church in Burma camp.

The ceremony, on the theme, “the trial of leaders” was to commit the GOC to God and ask for protection, wisdom and guidance as he commences the enormous task of ensuring peace and stability in the southern sector of Ghana.

During the sermon, the Director Army Religious Affairs, Reverend Colonel PN Duodo opined that the trait of a good leader was effectiveness and efficiency. He implored the GOC to always seek the face of the lord in all decisions to enable him exemplify these traits to thrive even in the midst of limited resources

Deputy Chief of Staff in charge of logistics at the General Headquarters, Major General Joseph Prince Osei-Owusu who was the guest of honour for the ceremony remarked that the appointment of Brig Gen Asare as GOC Southern Command depicted a vote of confidence in him by High Command.

He stressed that the GOC would be confronted with unrelenting pressure and daunting challenges in the execution of his duties, but advised to always pay for guidance to help him succeed.
