The facilities formed part of government’s barracks regeneration project across all Garrisions to provide decent accommodation for personnel and their families. The GOC thanked the Government of Ghana for the intervention to ensure that personnel are provided with decent accommodation. He charged the occupants to take care of the building. 
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Central Command, Brigadier General Michael Opoku has commissioned 8 and 72 unit accommodation at Idris Barracks and Uaddara barracks respectively on Thursday 4 July 2024.
