Family of late Colonel Jones seeks GAF's help for dignified farewell

The family of the late Colonel Ekow Jones (Rtd), former Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment, led by Major General Coleman (Rtd), have paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Thomas Oppong-Peprah, on Tuesday 17 September 2024 at the General Headquarters.

The visit was to seek assistance from the Ghana Armed Forces in bidding farewell to their beloved colleague and father, the late Colonel Ekow Jones (Rtd).

Lt Gen Oppong-Peprah assured the family of the Ghana Armed Forces' support in ensuring a dignified farewell for the late Colonel Jones (Rtd), in recognition of his exemplary service, particularly for his role in establishing the 66 Artillery Regiment in Ho.

The late Colonel Ekow Jones (Rtd) was a pioneering figure in the 66 Artillery Regiment, established on 16 April 1966, to provide fire support to the Ghana Army. His vision and leadership played a pivotal role in shaping the regiment into its current form.
