The exercise which forms part of the contingent’s Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) efforts is aimed at boosting the capacity of the blood bank and supporting emergency care across the region. The Hospital Administrator, Mr Almami Fofana, commended ECOMIG GHANCOY 9 for the humanitarian gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. “This support will go a long way in saving lives and improving our hospital’s capacity to respond to emergencies,” he said. The Medical Officer of GHANCOY 9, Captain Albert Kwarteng Adjei reaffirmed the contingent’s commitment to deepening ties with local communities through practical humanitarian assistance. The Ghanaian Contingent of the ECOWAS Mission in The Gambia (ECOMIG GHANCOY 9) has undertaken a 4-day blood donation exercise at Essau Government Hospital from 15 to 18 September 2025.
