The Jungle Warfare School (JWS) in the Eastern Region has held a joint closing ceremony for the Combat Team Commanders Course (CTCC), Young Officers Course (YOC), and Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers Tactical Course (ANTC) on Friday, 8 November 2024.The five-week course was designed to train participants in basic tactical applications, enhance leadership skills, and equip them to plan and execute exercises and operations suitable for their ranks and appointments. A total of 19 Combat Team Commanders, 60 Young Officers, and 52 Advanced Non-Commissioned Officers of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) took part in the course, preparing them for diverse tasks, including global conventional missions. In his closing remarks, the Commander of Army Training Command (ATRAC), Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Stephen Woseadzikpo Kweku Parbey, highlighted the importance High Command places on training courses for career progression among officers and NCOs. He encouraged students to apply the lessons learned and make good use of reference materials for ongoing development. He also reminded them of evolving threats in the subregion, underscoring the importance of being adequately trained to counter unforeseen challenges.Brig Gen Parbey commended the Directing Staff, led by Lieutenant Colonel Owusu, for the success of CTCC 2-24 and praised the instructors for their dedicated support of the course.Several personnel were recognised for their outstanding performance across the courses. Major Collins Nkansah of the 64 Infantry Regiment was awarded the overall best in CTCC, Second Lieutenant Jacob Vanderpuye Awotwi of the 66 Artillery Regiment received the overall best in YOC, and Sergeant Amponsah K. P. from the Armoured Training School was named overall best in ANTC.
