The Acting Brigade Commander 17 Signal Brigade, Colonel (Col) Abass Mustapha has opened a Strategic Communication (StratCom) Course, at the Signals Training School, Burma Camp on Monday 21 July 2025

He emphasised that the course focuses on improving the abilities of participants to influence perceptions, attitudes, and behaviours among allies and adversaries.

Col Mustapha indicated that strategic communication is important to warfare. This is because warfare has transitioned from traditional battlefields to modern battlefields, largely dependent on information.

He referenced recent global conflicts and asserted that perceptions are as powerful as actions. Therefore, there is the need for soldiers to employ the principles of strategic communication to effectively discharge their duties in modern warfare.

Col Mustapha congratulated the participants on their selection, highlighting it as a recognition of their potential and a crucial step in addressing the complexities of modern military operations.

The Course Director and Senior National Representative of the Netherlands Mobile Training Team, Lieutenant Colonel Jamal Sealiti, expressed gratitude to the Ghana Armed Forces and reiterated the commitment of his outfit to sharing the necessary knowledge and expertise throughout the course.
