Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona has commissioned a heavy-duty plant equipment yard at the Engineer Training School (ETS) on Wednesday 19 June 2024.

The facility was commissioned and named after Brigadier General Edward Lord Attivor (Rtd) during the closing ceremony of maiden Engineer Young Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers Course-EYOSC.

In his remark, the Guest of Honour, for the joint programme, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Major General Bismarck Kwasi Onwona commended engineers of ETS for the renovation and programmes. He mentioned that the introduction of the Young Officers and Soldiers Course has helped boost the confidence of the participants which would prepare them for diverse military roles.

He touched on the initiatives and projects conducted by the ETS. Notable among them were administration blocks and classrooms, a hundred-seater auditorium, student accommodation facility, training collaboration programmes in Germany, a water plant in Akuse, and installation of solar panels by German Armed Forces Technical Advisory Group (GAFTAG).

He expressed appreciation to the Head of GAFTAG Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Heselschwerdt, representative of North Dakota National Guard, Major Simmick and Lieutenant Colonel Simmick of the US Army for their continuous support to ETS and Ghana Armed Forces.

Awards were presented to Lieutenant Prince Amaning, Staff Seargent Adika Mawuli, Lance Corporal Osabutey Erica, Trooper Torsu Elikem Trinity and Lance Corporal Adika Blessing for excelling in the various courses.
