The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General William Agyapong, has paid an operational visit to the 4 Garrison on Monday, 21 July 2025.

Addressing all ranks at the OB Akwa Auditorium, Lieutenant General Agyapong encouraged personnel to remain committed to their duties, stressing that both individual and collective efforts were essential to achieving the mission of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

He expressed concern over logistical challenges, particularly inadequate accommodation and assured troops that the Military High Command would address the situation.

The CDS reminded personnel to prioritise their safety during deployments and to adhere strictly to the rules of engagement. He emphasised the importance of professionalism and discipline, cautioning against unauthorised assignments especially the provision of guard duties to individuals not entitled to military protection, adding that such misconduct would attract severe sanctions.

Lieutenant General Agyapong announced the reintroduction of several Army programs and inter-unit competitions. He charged commanders at all levels to ensure their troops maintain physical fitness in readiness for operational demands. He also commended personnel deployed to Bawku for their contribution to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

He urged troops to avoid recruitment fraud and be mindful of their conduct on social media, reminding them that GAF has clear regulations governing the use of digital platforms.
