As part of the rezoning initiative of government, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Honourable (Hon) Simon Osei-Mensah has cut sod for the construction of a 33-unit accommodation for Officers of 4 Garrison at Danyame Ridge Park, Kumasi on Wednesday, 17 January 2023.The Minister urged contractors undertaking the project; Parkworth Company Limited, Geo Plast Ghana and Kohatsu Construction Real Estate to expedite the construction process so that the relocation could be done in due time. He explained that the relocation of Officers occupying government bungalows was occasioned by the ceding of some government lands to the Manhyia Palace. The facility which would be completed in 12 months has been categorized into three parts; comprising type A to C. Type A would consist of a 4-storey-8-unit-bedroom-flats for Lieutenants and Captains with spatial composition of a bedroom and shared washroom, a master bedroom ensuite living and dining room, kitchen and terrace. Type B, intended for Majors and Lieutenant Colonels, would be a 4-storey-8-unit-3-bedroom edifice with boy's quarters. It would have a spatial composition of a bedroom ensuite, a bedroom with a shared washroom, a master bedroom ensuite a living/dining room, kitchen and terrace. Type C is a 3-bedroom-apartment with boy quarters for Colonels and Generals. It has a spatial composition of a 2-bedroom and shared washroom, a master bedroom ensuite, study room, living/dining room, kitchen and a terrace.
