6 Garrison has held its Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols on Thursday, 21 December 2023 at the Barwah Barracks Pentecost Church. The event brought together personnel within the Garrison and their families to celebrate the Christmas festivities. The Base Commander Air Force Base Tamale, who doubles as the Acting Garrison Commander, Air Commodore Joshua Mensah-Larkai stated that the year had been demanding on all Units in the Garrison through the conduct of exercises and operations. He commended all troops for their dedication and commitment to their duties and urged them to remain professional when the tempo increases in 2024 during Operation Peace Trail. The Garrison Chaplain, Reverend Flight Lieutenant (Rev Flt Lt) Gershon Dotse, stated that Christmas is a season love, therefore he urged everyone to show love toward their neighbours. He further encouraged the congregation to use the Christmas season to know and understand themselves. The event saw a host of choir groups including the Air Force Base Choir, the 6 Infantry Battalion Choir, the 69 Air Borne Force Choir, and the Wives Association Choir performing.
