The 1 Infantry Battalion (1BN) has conducted a demonstration of "Battalion Headquarters in the Field" for cadets of Regular Career Course (RCC) Intake 63 from the Ghana Military Academy, led by Course Commander, Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Errol Archer Donkoh, on Wednesday 4 September 2024.

The Commander Rear of 1BN, Lt Col Frank Adams, highlighted the vital role of the Battalion Headquarters (HQ) as the central hub for addressing potential and actual security threats to the nation. He emphasised that the exercise aimed to bolster the readiness of the Headquarters in responding to and mitigating attacks.

The demonstration was designed to provide the cadets with valuable insight into the operational layout of the Battalion HQ in the field. During the visit, the cadets were exposed to various operational aspects, including types of command posts, battalion appointments, layout, principles, and tactical considerations. Additionally, there was a weapon display to offer practical insight into equipment usage.

The cadets also toured the Battalion deployment sites and experienced realistic combat scenarios, enabling them to adapt to the unpredictability and challenges they might face in actual battle.
