GOC NORTHERN COMMAND CONCLUDES OPERATIONAL VISIT

General Tei’s visit highlights troop discipline, joint operations, and support.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) Northern Command, Brigadier General Frank Nartey Tei, has concluded his operational visits to Units under his command with a visit to the 10 Mechanized Battalion on Monday 2 September 2024.

At a durbar with the 10 Mechanized Battalion troops, Brigadier General Tei praised their commitment and emphasised the importance of discipline, commending the high standards currently maintained and encouraging continued excellence. 

During his visit, Brigadier General Tei paid a courtesy call on the Waa Naa, Naa Fuseini Pelpuo IV. He expressed gratitude to the Chief and elders for their support to the 10 Mechanized Battalion and highlighted the importance of joint operations and training with the Ghana Police Service as part of Operations PEACE TRAIL, aimed at maintaining peace before, during, and after the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections. 

The Waa Naa acknowledged the military's vital role in maintaining peace and security in the region. He commended the military for their sacrifices in ensuring safety and socio-economic development and assured the GOC of continued support.

Brigadier General Tei also visited the Wa West District Assembly, where he discussed issues regarding encroachment on military lands with Co-ordinating Director Mr. Plnyango Crispin. He further interacted with troops at the Wechiau Detachments and encouraged small-group training to maintain efficiency and effectiveness in their duties.
