The Eastern Naval Command (ENC) has held its End-of-Year Thanksgiving and Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols at the Naval Base, Tema, on Sunday 14 December 2025.

The event brought together officers, ratings, civilian staff, and families to reflect on the year’s journey under the theme, “A Season of Thanksgiving and Renewal.” The service provided the Command with an opportunity to express gratitude for divine protection throughout 2025 and to renew its spiritual and moral commitment ahead of the new year.

The ceremony featured scripture readings and sacred carols, creating a solemn yet uplifting atmosphere of worship. It also offered a unifying platform for personnel of diverse Christian traditions to join in collective praise, intercession, and thanksgiving.

The Guest of Honour, Commodore Steve Darbo (Rtd), a former Flag Officer Commanding ENC, delivered a message centred on gratitude and resilience, drawing on Ephesians 2:8 to emphasise that the Command had come this far by grace. He extended warm greetings to the families of personnel, commending their steadfast support and sacrifices toward the peace and stability of the nation.

Looking ahead to 2026, Commodore Darbo urged all present to reaffirm their commitment to making Ghana a safe and prosperous nation through personal sacrifice, discipline, and unity. He called for peace, pardon, and hope to guide the ENC in the coming year and wished the entire naval community a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance.
