The Ghana Military Academy has held a graduation band concert for cadets of Regular Career Course (RCC) 64 and Short Service Commission/Special Duties Course (SSC/SD) 62 at the Whistler Barracks, Teshie on Friday 28 November 2025.

This was aimed at encouraging the cadets to not allow complacency undermine their years of effort as they approach their final stages of training, and offer the opportunity to interact with senior officers and distinguished personalities.

In his address, the Chief Staff Officer (CSO) at the Naval Headquarters, Commodore (Cdre) Ben Baba Abdul, noted that from ancient drumbeats to modern military bands, music has strengthened the spirit of soldiers, offered hope in difficult moments and united troops in both war and peace. According to him, “music is much more than melody; it is emotion, memory, resilience and unity woven together.”

Cdre Abdul encouraged the cadets to draw lessons from the evening’s performances, citing discipline, teamwork, timing and purpose as essential attributes that both musicians and military leaders must master. Reminding the cadets that the military uniform is a symbol of sacrifice, honour, loyalty and service to Ghana.

He expressed appreciation to the Ghana Armed Forces Music School for their exceptional performance, praising their professionalism and contribution to military excellence. He also commended the Acting Commandant, Brigadier General (Brig Gen) Cornelius Komla Lithur, and the organisers for their dedication and meticulous planning, which ensured the success of the event.
