The Armed Forces Music School (AFMS) has held a band concert at the Armed Forces Central Band Square on Monday 1 December 2025, to mark the end of a five-month Bandsman AIV–AI Course 2/25 and Bandmaster Course 1/25.
The concert formed part of the school’s practical training, providing a platform for students to learn concert organisation, stage management, musical piece selection and the rehearsal process.
The Assistant Commandant Tri-Service Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Air Commodore Gervase Wienaa commended the students for the splendid performances during the concert. He described the performance the band as thrilling and applauded the high level of professionalism displayed.
He entreated the students to explore a repertoire of musical pieces to enhance their sight-reading abilities, rhythmic interpretation and overall musicianship. He also urged the students to continue practising technical exercises, scales, vocal training and other fundamental drills to sharpen their proficiency on their various instruments.
Leading Seaman Afeti William was adjudged Best in Composition for Military March, while Corporal Adu-Yeboah won Best in Composition for Popular Band.
