The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), alongside sister security services, marked the 80th Remembrance Day with a solemn parade and wreath-laying ceremony at the Jackson Park, Koforidua, on Tuesday 11 November 2025.
The event honoured the memory of Ghanaian servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives during World War I and II.
Highlight of the ceremony was the observance of the 11th hour with the sounding of last post followed by followed by the reveille.
Distinguished guests including the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, Commanding Officer 1 Infantry Battalion, Lt Col Frank Adams, Eastern Regional Chairman of Veterans Administration Ghana (VAG), Ex WO1 George Mensah and the Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Kwaku Boateng III laid wreaths on behalf of government, security services, veterans and traditional authorities respectively.
Contingents from the 1 Infantry Battalion, Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Prisons Service, Ghana Immigration Service and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority participated, demonstrating their shared commitment to unity, peace and security.
