28 February 2019. Hisense Company Limited, a Chinese multinational electronics manufacturer, has donated six (6) split air conditioners to the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) at a short ceremony held at the forecourt of MATS on Thursday, 28 February, 2019.
The donation was through the efforts of the Chief of Staff (COS), Major Gen Thomas Oppong Peprah, who was also present at the ceremony.
Making the donation, the Hisense Financial Assistant, Miss Hinanit Opoku, stated that the main aim of the donation was to build and create a fruitful partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces and also contribute in solving some of the administrative and operational challenges of GAF.
She noted that Hisense products were one of a kind, affordable and energy efficient. She used the occasion to appeal to other corporate institutions to emulate their kind gesture.
On his part, the Commandant of MATS, Maj Gen William Omane Agyekum expressed his warmest gratitude to Hisense Company Limited for the donation and promised that the products would be put to its intended purpose.
Maj Gen Omane Agyekum thanked COS, Maj Gen Oppong Peprah, for his initiative in facilitating the donation.
