19 February 2019. Lt Col Emmanuel Larbi Sarpong Gyadu, Commanding Officer of the Army Recruits Training School (ARTS), have been honoured by the President of Liberia, Dr George Maneh Weah. The honour was in recognition of Lt Col Gyadu’s contribution towards restructuring the Armed Forces of Liberia.
Lt Col Gyadu was appointed Commander of 2 Battalion and was part of the team that drafted the Uniform Code of Military Justice for the Armed Forces of Liberia. He was instrumental in the training of young officers of the Armed Forces of Liberia.
On Tuesday 19 February 2019, Lt Col Gyadu paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), Maj Gen William Azure Ayamdo at the Army Headquarters to present to him the awards and the citation given by the President of Liberia. Maj Gen Ayamdo expressed his appreciation to Lt Col Gyadu for the gesture.
The COAS underlined that the enviable award has not only brought prestige to the Ghana Armed Forces but has also raised the image of Ghana on the international front. He congratulated the senior officer for a good work done and urged him to keep the mantle high.
