20 November 2018. The Director for Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy and Climate Change at the Energy Commission Ghana, Mr Kofi Agyarko has said that there is the need for military personnel and their families to purchase appliances which have the energy efficiency labels for easier payment on electricity tariffs.
He explained that electrical appliances without the energy efficiency labels consume electricity which amounts to a higher payment of tariffs hence directed all to use household appliances appropriately to avoid higher costs.
He said this while addressing military personnel and their families on Energy Efficiency and Conservation on Tuesday, 20 November 2018 at Burma Camp.
Mr Kofi Agyarko stressed that prices of electrical appliances did not matter but its high energy consumption was critical thus urged all to conserve energy to save money judiciously.
He stated that the Energy Commission had educated personnel in most of the garrisons regarding energy efficiency and was yet to visit Air Force Headquarters.
