24 October 2018. SAAB Technologies in partnership with Recce group of South Africa Special Forces Army (SASFA) have sensitized Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) on ‘Special Forces Training and Simulation capability’ at the General Headquarters Operations room, Burma Camp on Wednesday, 24 October 2018.
The Executive Director, PU Training and Simulation, JC van Schalkwyk noted that, the Special Forces Training and Simulation Capability was directed specifically to training of soldiers and also to simulate combat environment.
He said that the training comprised three areas; life simulation, veteran simulation and Contractual simulation. He added that these areas focused on equipment training and leadership training typically for ECOMOG post exercise environment.
JC van Schalkwyk stated that SASFA offers Special Forces Training to enhance the development of education and training at the strategic, tactical and operational levels. He added that the Special Force Training and Simulation Capability would assist soldiers to combat effectively.
Chairman of Reece group of SAFSA, Div Lamprecht in his presentation stated that the Special Forces Development for Education and Training was thoroughly researched, design, developed, implemented and maintained.
He was certain that SAAB and the Reece group had knowledge, skills and experience to engage GAF to function at the levels of Headquarters Operational Units, Training School, Maintenance Unit and a Technology and Research Unit.
Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen OB Akwa in response expressed his profound gratitude to SAFSA for the presentation and stated that the Special Forces Training and Simulation Capability was of importance to GAF.
