IPC Training held for Medical Staff of 37 Military Hospital

29 April 2019.    A five-day Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Training has been held for some selected health personnel of the 37 Military Hospital from Tuesday 23 April – Monday 29 April 2019 at the Officers’ Mess in Accra.

The training dubbed ‘’Trainer of Trainers’’ was to educate them on the standard of Infection Prevention Control and also to add to their technical know-how about IPC.

The twenty five (25) selected health personnel were drawn from the various Departments and Wards of the facility. They were taken through topics and demonstrations in the medical field.

Coordinators for the training were Lt Col Awumee Officer in Charge of the Dialysis Unit, 37 Military Hospital, Dr Fridolin Attipoe and Dr Nyinako, all of Public Health Division of the facility.

In her closing remarks, the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), 37 Military Hospital Col Josephine Viwortor disclosed that it was important for every health worker to have more knowledge in IPC and encouraged participants to impart the knowledge in their colleagues .

Resource persons drawn from various health facilities and Institutions such as Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Ghana Health Service (GHS), School of Nursing, University of Ghana,  and the Ministry of Health (MoH) were present at the training.
