A 10-member delegation from the family of the Late Lt Gen Albert Kwesi Ocran has paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), Lt Gen OB Akwa on Tuesday 30 April 2019 at Burma Camp.
The purpose of the visit was to officially inform the CDS about the burial arrangements of the late General.
Commandant, Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), Maj Gen Francis Ofori who formed part of the delegation noted that the burial service would take place on Friday, 31 May 2019 at the Garrison Methodist Presbyterian Church (GMPC) Burma Camp, followed by interment at the Military Cemetery with the reception at the Arakan Officers Mess respectively.
He stated further that the final funeral rite would take place at the late General’s hometown, Breman Brakwa on Saturday 1 June 2019.
The CDS expressed his deepest condolences to the family and assured them of Ghana Armed Forces’ (GAF)’s readiness to assist the family during the burial service. He added that the loss of Lt Gen Ocran was a time of mourning but also a celebration of a life well lived.
The late Lt Gen Ocran died at the age of 89. He served in the capacity as a Commanding Officer (CO) 6 Infantry Battalion, CO 1 Infantry Battalion, Army Commander, Chief of Staff at the General Headquarters and Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces
