16 April 2019. The French Ambassador to Ghana, Her Excellency Anne Sophie Avé, on Tuesday 16 April 2019, launched the first French Tuesday Experience to support the intention of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to make French a second language in Ghana.
She has earmarked Tuesdays to offer government officials as well as VIPs the opportunity to practice French and build their basic communication skills which would be of help to them in their interactions with francophone counterparts. This experience took place at the residence of the Ambassador at Cantonments (Accra).
She stressed that rather than a formal course, she endeavoured to offer a casual interaction in French (and English) with high ranking French natives of the Embassy. The experience is expected to continue till early July.
Present at the session were the Chief of the Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Obed Boamah Akwa and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson.
