School Of Ordinance Now Affiliate to ATU 

26 April 2019. The Accra Technical University (ATU) has agreed to make the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) School of Ordinance an affiliate.

To this end, ATU will, for the first time, award Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Chain Management as well as Intermediate Certificate in Tailoring and Leather Craft to graduating students who participated in the first quarter courses of the year.

This was made known by the Commanding Officer (CO), School of Ordnance, Lt Col Amoako Anthony during the closing ceremony of the School’s first quarter courses held at El-Wak, Accra on Friday 26 April 2019.

He expressed his profound gratitude to the Commandant and Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) Command hierarchy, Director General (Logistics and Director Ordinance Services) for the unflinching support rendered to the school.

The Guest of Honour, who doubles as the Deputy Commandant of the Military Academy and Training Schools (MATS) as well as Acting Commander of the Ghana Military Academy (GMA), Brig Gen Solomon Osabutey congratulated the students and said it was the desire of Command that all personnel of GAF would have the suitable platform to upgrade and improve their knowledge and skills. This, he said would make them competent for subsequent assignments at home and abroad and later in their civil life.

Brig Gen Osabutey commended the school for working very hard under very challenging circumstances to achieve the set objectives for courses, as well as maintaining cherished military standards and discipline, training and mentoring future logisticians, fashion designers and leather workers.

The ten-week course comprised of BII Courses in Storeman Ordinance, Storeman General Duties, Tailoring and Leather work.  The aim of the course was to train and equip participants in their chosen careers to deepen and broaden their understanding of existing stores procedures, fashion design and leather works among others.

Souvenirs were presented to twelve students who excelled in the various Courses
